VERONICA (VERNA) BANIUK It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Veronica (Verna) Baniuk on August 28, 2005 at the age of 82 years. Verna was born on March 1, 1923 in Poland and arrived in Canada at the age of 6 with her parents, Mike and Katherine Balaban. Verna is predeceased by her husband John; parents, Mike and Katherine Balaban; brother Victor (Elsie); and son Leonard. Verna is survived by sons, Ron (Val) and Victor (Gisela); daughter Jane; brother Louis (Marie); and Kia Kat and many friends and relatives. Verna was a wonderful and very well liked person, always thinking of everyone else but herself. She was an excellent mother, seamstress and cook. Special thanks to Nancy for taking great care of Mom and close friend Dave for his total support. A private family service was held at Green Acres Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3. To my mother, my best friend, my soul mate. You are now free from pills, pain and sorrow and together again with Daddy and Lenny. I will cherish our beautiful lives and precious memories we had together forever. I promise I will take care of myself with the help of your soul by my side. The pain of not having you with me is unbearable, but I know one day we will be together in heaven. Mom you were the best friend and mother in the whole world. Forever loved never forgotten. Your Doll Janie GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery Hwy. No. 1 E. at Navin, (204) 222-3241
