ZANE BAKUN September 18, 1930 - August 19, 2005 It is with deepest heartfelt sadness that we announce the sudden but peaceful passing of our Father (Dad) and Grandfather (Grandpa) at Concordia Hospital. Zane was predeceased by his wife Julia (Lillian) in 1968; his mother Mary Bakun in 1991 and his stepfather Andrew Sereda in 1988. He is survived by his daughter Andrea Bakun (Darren Adam). He also leaves to mourn his passing, his four grandchildren, Jordan, Corey and Alysha Steckler and Taylor Bakun-Adam. Zane was born in Winnipeg, MB. He graduated from the Faculty of Engineering (Civil) at the University of Manitoba in 1953. Following that, he moved to Regina, SK, where he went to work for the City of Regina Planning Department (Assistant Director of Planning) until ill health forced him into early retirement. He moved back to Winnipeg in 1984 and last resided at Concordia Place Care Home, 1000 Molson Ave. prior to his death. Respects and tributes were paid to Zane during a private and intimate family service at Cropo Funeral Chapel. A private interment has already taken place in Brookside Cemetery, where Zane was laid to rest with his beloved wife, united once again.
