NICK LAZARENKO Peacefully, on Friday, September 2, 2005, our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather passed away. Nick was predeceased by his parents, William and Mary and brothers, Tom and Mike. He leaved to mourn his passing, his wife of 54 years, Olga; children, Pat Homeniuk (Rick), Gail Roy (Mike), Cheryl, Darryl (Kelly); grand-children, Carrie, Jacqueline (Patrick), Stephanie, Will and Nate; great-grandchild Presley. Also left to mourn are brothers, John (Gail), Harry (Judy); sisters, Ann, Kay (Bill), Nellie, Elsie (Cas) and many family and friends. Nick was born a New Year's baby in 1928 in Arborg, MB, and came to Winnipeg, where he worked and in 1950 met his future wife Olga Kohut. Nick was co-owner of K L Cartage, a contracting company formed in 1958 that evolved over 30 years into road construction and snow removal and included over 30 pieces of heavy equipment and employed over 40 people. It was the dedication to the business and work ethic that provided Nick to retire at the age of 60 years. During his retirement years, Nick and Olga enjoyed spending time at the cottage in Spruce Sands as well as working on many woodworking projects. Also, the retirement years allowed him to be a wonderful Dad and Gigi. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 6 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nick's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, P.O.
