MARY ANN STASZENSKI (nee NOVAK) Suddenly and peacefully at the Concordia Hospital on August 26, 2005, Mary closed her eyes to begin an everlasting rest at the age of 86. Nana cherished her past 15 years at Columbus House where she resided both with Grandpa and on her own. She will be fondly remembered as a kind and gentle lady as well as one who never missed an opportunity to joke around. She delighted in her nightly card games, weekend BBQ's and countless social events with her friends. The family is very grateful to all the residents of Columbus House, many of which faithfully brought Nana wonderful treats and happily helped her with chores and errands. Nana spoke of you often and you made her days so very special. She was also blessed to have a very special friend in Joyce Smith her resident neighbour. Special thanks to the home care workers and to the Concordia Hospital staff who kept Nana smiling and in good spirits during her many stays. Cremation has taken place and a memorial tea will be held at Columbus House, 410 Desalaberry at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 8.
