DORIS MARGARET GOUGEON (JODOIN) January 5, 1932 - September 1, 2005 Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother suddenly passed away and joined her husband on September 1, 2005. Remaining to cherish her memory are five daughters, Michelle (Denesh), Lise (David), Susanne (Michael), Gisele (David) and Nicole (Norman); grandchildren, Adam (Michelle), Brian and Graham (Lise), Stephen, Ryan and Cheryl (Suzanne), Dominique and Gabriel (Nicole), Meera and Aneil (Denesh); great-grandchildren, Logan, Evan and baby Ivy (Adam and Jennifer), Randy (Stephen). Doris is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and had a special place in her heart for Little Rita, Claudette and Joannie. Our father Raymond was mom's friend, companion and gin partner of 55 years, sadly passed away May 13, of this year. She is also predeceased by her parents, Rose and Lawrence Jodoin; and all her sisters and one brother, Rita (Hector), Loretta (Leo), Teresa (Russell), Percy (Connie); and granddaughter baby Erin (Lise). Mom was an extraordinary person who was well liked and loved by all who crossed her path in life. Mom was the most loving, compassionate, gregarious, strong and at times stubborn in her own convictions. Mom was a great story teller creating stories from her brilliant imagination and related these stories to us at bedtime and shared them to her grandchildren. Mom was a beautiful singer who had the capacity to be a professional but sacrificed all that to devote her life to her husband and children. Her musical instrument was spoons and she played for us at Christmas time. Mom loved to tell good jokes (sometimes not good jokes) and would laugh so hard she could not finish the joke. She sure had a great sense of humour. Mom's life on earth was a hard one but never once up to her death would she ever complain. Her love and devotion to her family was immeasurable. She always put others first with a smile on her face and twinkle in her eyes. When Dad passed away three months ago, we created a time of loving care and support; a small gift for someone who spent a lifetime putting her needs second to all others. There will always be a void in our hearts and a lifetime of tears for this special mom given to us by God. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, September 8 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. The service will terminate at the chapel with cremation to follow. The family wishes to extend our deepest gratitude to the First Response Paramedics, Constables 2240 and 2106 who were so compassionate and helpful and the medical examiner Susan for her gentle compassion and sensitivity to all of us during this difficult period. In lieu of lowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6. Mom would have liked that. Mom you are with Dad and all your family now. Sing everyday. Til' we meet again, your beloved family. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715 Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca.
