CANDIDO MARTINS Peacefully on Sunday, September 4, 2005 at Riverview Health Centre, Candido Martins passed away at the age of 76 years. Candido was predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Guelhemino, brothers and sister in Portugal. He will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Armenia; son Felipe, wife Angie, two granddaughters, Marissa and Rene; sister Trinidade and family in Portugal and many friends. Candido was born in Portugal on April 9, 1929 and immigrated to Canada to live a better life. He worked hard providing for his family and enjoyed dancing, cooking and futebol. He will always be remembered for his perfect memory of dates and numbers. With his minimal education he was able to succeed but he ensured that his son received the education he was never able to have. Candido enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters and had hoped to see them grow up. Though still young their Avo will continue to watch over them every day. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 6:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 7, 10:30 a.m. at Blessed John XXIII Parish, 3390 Portage Ave. with Msgr. Maurice Comeault officiating. Entombment will follow in the Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, Assumption Cemetery.
