Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJYOTI MISTRY August 3, 1982 - September 3, 2005 It is with immense sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our light, our beloved Jyoti Mistry. Growing up in Winnipeg, Jyoti was active in many activities (Gujarati School, dance, swimming, skating, soccer). With an outstanding personality, infectious smile, and constant chatter, she made friends with all who met her. Her compassionate nature drew her to volunteer as a Candystriper at the Grace General Hospital for several years. As an accomplished dancer, Jyoti graduated from the India School of Dance, Music and Theatre, performing her Aradhana. She excelled in school and graduated with honours from St. John's Ravenscourt and recently obtained her B.Sc. from the University of Western Ontario. About to embark on a second degree, Jyoti envisioned a career in law. Jyoti will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her loving parents, Vithal and Tarla Mistry, Baa, Motabapa Morarbhai, Motima (Dhanuben), Ramankaka (Indirakaki), Sashikaka (Hansakaki), Natukaka (Urmilakaki), Kamufoi (Bhagufuaji), Savitafoi (late Bhimufuaji), Tarafoi (Kishorfuaji), Jayafoi (Ambufuaji), Shankarmama (Vajiyamami), Vasantmama (Jayamami), Jagumama (Varshamami), Revamasi (Khushalmasa), Kanchanmasi (Chhaganmasa), Pravinkaka (Dinakaki), Pam Auntie (Dennis Uncle), numerous cousin brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, friends and her baby' dog Jinx. We would like to thank our friends and family in Toronto, especially Damu and Bhagwandas, Kirti, Ami and Jagubhai who opened their house and hearts. Also special thanks to Jayantibhai and the Gujarati Community in Winnipeg. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 9 at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home. Shantipath to follow at 8:00 p.m. in the Hindu Temple, 854 Ellice Ave. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. Dear Jyoto I just want to remind you how great of a friend you were to me. It just seem like yesterday we were getting together to swap lab notes at Tim Horton's before our lab exam. I remember how hard we studied and we did ok at the end! You always had confidence in everything you did! You're smile and laughter was contagious and I'm glad I always bumped into you at campus. We had some good memories and I will cherish them forever. I love you so much JOYTI! I MISS YOU! Your friend forever...Silvia Perez - Posted by: Silvia Perez (Friend) on: Sep 23, 2005

Dear Jyoti, I can not believe it was only a few months ago at the Weldon library you were telling me about Winnipeg. I never knew that would be last time I would see you. Thanks for being so friendly since the first day we met in the genetics class 4 years ago and introducing me to one of my best friends. On behalf of myself, Hasti, Silvia, Mehrnaz , Cindy and all the rest of the lucky people who got to know you during your stay at Western, we'll miss you. Deepest condolences to family and friends. I met Jyoti 2 years ago at a friends wedding where she offered me help to tie my saree and we had a lot of fun thru out the nite as we sat at the same table and shared some laughs. She came across as a very kind and sincere person. Even though I did not know her that well but the time we spent together that night will always remain as one of my memories oj Jyoti. My heartfelt condolences to Jyoti's family and friends. She will be deeply missed by everyone. - Posted by: Neetu (Acquaintance) on: Sep 14, 2005

I enjoyed the time I spent working with Jyoti at Western. She was always generous and willing to help out in any way she possibly could. She could always get me laughing with her quick wit and sense of humour. I remember how happy she was when she got her puppy, and she was a good mom to little Jinx. I'll miss you, Jyoti I extend my deepest sympathies to Jyoti's family and friends. ~kate - Posted by: Kate Tunney (Friend) on: Sep 08, 2005
