VIOLET ANDERSON October 18, 1914 - September 4, 2005 It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Violet Anderson on September 4, 2005 at the Selkirk District General Hospital with her family by her side. Violet was predeceased by her husband Earl; daughter Eileen; grandson Donald; her parents, Edwin and Eliza Lodge; and five brothers. Violet leaves to cherish her memory, children, Phyllis, Les (Molly), Donald (Marilyn); one sister Margaret (Ken) Lodge; 18 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Violet was employed at Eaton's Co. until her retirement. After retiring Violet and Earl enjoyed some travelling until Earl's passing. She enjoyed her gardening, crocheting, playing bingo, cribbage and up until a year ago was an avid square dancer. The family would like to thank Dr. Sadouski and staff at Concordia Hospital and Dr. R. Lindenschmidt and staff at Selkirk General Hospital for their kindness, care, and compassion shown to Violet and her family. Also thanks to her special friends at the block. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 9, at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Violet's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
