JEAN LEVEQUE (nee BECENKO) It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Sunday, September 4, 2005 at the age of 73. Jean is survived by her husband of 54 years, Gilbert; her daughter Barbara (Eldren) and granddaughters, Danielle (Kent) and Karen (Luke); son Raymond (Jeannette) and grandsons, Marc (Michelle) and great-grandson Tristan, Paul (Candice) and great-grandson Corrie, grandsons, Justin and Allen; son Michael and grandsons, Shawn and Andrew. Also mourning her passing are her brother John Becenko (Gertrude), sister Stella Kowalchuck (Edmond) and numerous nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Pauline Becenko and sister and brother-in-law, Mary (Angus) McRitchie. Jean was born in Kamsack, SK on March 15, 1932 and educated in Winnipeg, MB. Her working career started at Silverwood Dairies, later moving to Kmart and then to Scotia Bank where she retired after a successful career. Jean's family brought her great joy and was she so proud of their every achievement in life. Her husband Gilbert and children, Barbara, Raymond, Michael and their families will greatly miss her love and support. If friends/family so wish, in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to The Kidney Foundation of Canada, Manitoba Branch, 730 Taylor Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3M 2K8. Prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons, Winnipeg. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 8 at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Chapel with Fr. Gary Killen officiating. Interment to follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg. The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Boniface Hospital, Emergency and Intensive Care Units for all their kindness and compassion.
