Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHIRLEY JOAN MAYOR Peacefully following a lengthy illness, at her residence, on Friday, September 2, 2005, Shirley Joan Mayor of Portage la Prairie, beloved wife of Jack Mayor passed away at the age of 69 years. A private family service will take place at a later date. Shirley was born and raised in Portage la Prairie. Her education was completed in Portage except for a stint during the Second World War when she attended school in Amaranth. Shirley was married to Jack Mayor in Calgary in 1953 and Ted the oldest son was born in 1954. Shirley treated life like it would never end and she loved to travel, be with nature and have copious amounts of flowers surrounding her. She was a cook and chef by trade and work at various companies in Winnipeg, Brandon, and Calgary. Predeceased by her parents, Margaret and Edward Lundy of Vancouver BC; two brothers, Vern and Bill; she leaves to mourn her passing her husband of 52 years Jack; three sons, Ted (Kerry-Mae), Terry (Roxanne) and John all of Rivers, MB; five grandchildren, Tanis, Kristen, Savannah, Lee and Ali. Also surviving is one brother Gordon of Sooke, BC, one sister Dawn (Bud) Shepherd of Calgary, AB, one sister-in-law Joyce and many nieces and nephews. Shirley will be sadly missed by her best friend Barbara Cyr of Yorkton, SK who was saddened immensely by her passing and everyone she knew. Should friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association Memorial Fund, or a charity of your choice.
