ADRIAN NORBERT CORNELIUS DELAAT February 13, 1935 - September 6, 2005 Suddenly, on September 6 after a valiant battle with the complications of a heart attack Adrian Delaat passed away. It is with great sadness and loss that we make this announcement. Adrian worked as a laboratory technician, teacher, writer, safety officer, and served the MSMLT and CSLT for 35 years. Adrian was a great friend and confidant to all those whose lives he touched. An avid genealogist, he traced the paths of those families near and dear to his heart (including his own). His gift will be remembered by all those who knew him. Adrian leaves behind many loved ones: his son John Patrick Delaat, fiancee Durrenda Warren and grandson Dylan Adrian Delaat; stepdaughters, Susan Verrecchia and Diane Gabriel (Blake); his adopted family, sisters, Peggy Eastwood and (Keith), Els Purslow (Bruce), Kathy Daigle; brothers, Helmut Zeeuwen (Gerry), Hans Munsters (Janet), and Dick Zeeuwen (Nancy) as well as their children, Kyle and Hillary (Adrian's Godchild). Adrian also leaves behind a large extended family in the Netherlands: sisters, Riet Delaat, Annie van Doremalen (Jan), Nel Van de Kaij (widowed), and Thea Majoie (Lex) as well as many nephews nieces and cousins. Adrian's numerous close friends, Susan Munsters and Paul Ruiter (Sinnia), Luis Martinez, Clare Jacyk, Bill Strukoff, Peggy Franchescet as well as many others. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 12, starting with a Mass at St. Ignatius Church (255 Stafford at Corydon) at 11:00 a.m. followed immediately by a memorial service at Thomson In the Park Funeral Home located at 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
