JOYCE MAY ROBSON May 9, 1922 - September 3, 2005 Peacefully on September 3, 2005 at the Grace Hospital, Joyce left to be with Gilbert, her beloved husband of 60 years. Joyce was born at Wellington, BC (Nanaimo) and moved to Victoria as a child. Joyce and Gilbert were married in Victoria in 1940 and moved to Winnipeg at the end of the war with son Ron. Joyce joined Sparling United Church and soon became an active member in the Women's Groups. She loved knitting, sewing and doing many handicrafts. While her husband was a patient at Deer Lodge Centre for two years, Joyce got involved with their programs and following Gil's death, she continued to be a volunteer until a few months ago. Joyce is survived by son Ron (Connie), Russell and Ryan; daughter Diane (Jim), Scott (Jaclyn) and Lindsay Drummond; son Gary (Dianna), Laura and Laine; and many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Sparling United Church, 1609 Elgin Ave. at Worth Street, on Saturday, September 10 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Sparling United Church, R3E 1C4 or Deer Lodge Centre, 2109 Portage Ave., R3J 0L3.
