ELIZABETH GESSNER With her family by her side, Elizabeth Gessner passed away peacefully on September 7, 2005 at the age of 92. Predeceased by her husband John in 1979; her parents, Harry and Rose Woznesensky; brothers, Harry, Alex, Peter; sister Marie; and daughter-in-law Elaine Gessner. Left to cherish her loving memories are daughter Rosmarie (Ray) Briere; son Jim Gessner; grandchildren, Greg (Kathy) Briere, Cheryl (Joe) Strzelec, Charlene (Garth) Coles, Jody (Joey) Harris, Shauna Gessner (Jeremiah), John Gessner (Meaghan); great-grandchildren, Cassie, Carly, Lindsey Strzelec; sisters-in-law, Toni and Blanche; and numerous nieces and nephews. Elizabeth enjoyed her many years of farm life where she had a huge garden and many flowers. She enjoyed cooking, baking and was famous for her perogie making. She has enjoyed her 23 years in Winnipeg where she has made many new friends and will never forget their card games, get togethers, and companionship. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. She will be sadly missed, remembered always and loved forever! A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 12, at 10:00 a.m. at Luther Home at 1081 Andrews St., Pastor Terry Throndson, officiating. Interment to follow at a later date in Abernethy, SK.
