ROSE BELL With her family by her side, Rose Bell passed away on July 29, 2005. She was predeceased by her husband Leon Bell; daughter Nancy Manusow; parents, Solomon and Ann Rabinovitch and brother-in-law Fred Essers. She leaves to mourn, sons, Hannon (Lorraine), Kenneth (Leesa); grandchildren, Joshua Manusow, Amy Manusow and Daniel Bell; sister Pauline Essers and son-in-law David Manusow. Rose lived her entire life in Winnipeg. As a young woman she attended university, and was married in 1948. She was a loving wife and mother who always placed her family first. Then after 30 years of devotion to her family, Rose re-entered the workforce in the late 1970's, becoming the bridal consultant for Birks in Winnipeg. It was a position she loved and one in which she excelled, staying in that role until she retired in 1993. Rose was a reserved and refined woman who was always radiant and lovely, the epitome of grace and dignity. She possessed a cheerful and positive disposition and was intelligent, caring and gracious. She loved to learn about news things and kept extremely up to date, reading the newspaper from cover to cover each day. Discussing world events with her family over a cup of tea was a favourite pastime. She was open-minded, youthful and contemporary and in her senior years learned to use a computer and regularly emailed her children. Her last years, however, were extremely difficult as she mourned the loss of her husband and daughter. Yet, despite great challenges, she maintained a sense of purpose and always found a way to be positive and considerate of others. Rose was a beautiful person who will be sadly missed and forever cherished by her family, and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. The family would like to thank Remy and the home care staff for all their help. Funeral services were held on Sunday, July 31 at the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue. Pallbearers were Joshua Manusow, Bill Weissmann, Ian Rabb, David Rabb, Marc Streifler and Hatem Howlader, with interment at the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue.
