SARA LINKLATER (nee WIEBE) February 19, 1934 - January 15, 2006 Sara was born at Lowe Farm, MB to her parents, Gerhardt and Elizabeth Wiebe; she was the third in a family of five. She attended school in Gnadenthal and Rudnerweide school districts. In 1948, at the age of 14, together with her family she moved to Paraguay, South America. There she resided till 1964 when she moved back to Manitoba together with her mother, her brother David and her sister Eva. Sara was baptized upon confession of her faith on June 9, 1954 by Bishop Isbrand Friesen in Paraguay. Sara worked in a couple of care homes in Winnipeg. It was here that she met her husband Harris. Sara and Harris were married on August 17, 1973. They farmed north of Selkirk as long as their health permitted, then they moved to the city of Selkirk. For the last nine plus years, Sara has been a patient in the Tudor House care home in Selkirk, MB. On Saturday, January 14, she suffered a stroke; she passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2006. She was predeceased by her husband Harris; her parents, Gerhardt and Elizabeth Wiebe; brothers, Jacob and William Wiebe. She is survived by brother David (Sara) of Brunkild; sister Eva (Dave) Kehler of Winnipeg; step-sister Tina (John) Stoesz; sister-in-law Clara Wiens (Otto) of Winnipeg; brother-in-law Tom Linklater of Winnipeg; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 19 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk with Rev. Abram Wiebe officiating. Interment will follow in the Cloverdale United churchyard. Special thanks to the staff at Tudor House and Selkirk Mental Health Centre, and also the doctors, nurses, and staff at Selkirk General Hospital, for all their excellent care.
