MYRTLE VICTORIA BRITTON (BREMNER) 1912 - 2007 Peacefully, on Saturday, January 6, 2007, Myrtle Britton passed away at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, MB, at the age of 94 years. Myrtle leaves to mourn; her daughter Valerie; son Russell and his wife Debbie; brothers, Bill, Bruce and his wife Wanda; her special grandchildren, Vincent, Trevor, Norman, Tina, Ashley, Bob, Kris, Tracey, Jackie and great-grandchild Marisa; as well as many friends and relatives. Myrtle was predeceased by her husband Spencer; daughter Marlene; parents Florence and Harry; sister Florence Marguerite; brothers Vincent, Arnold and Alex Bremner. Born May 11, 1912, in Headingley, Myrtle lived here her entire life. The most important thing in Myrtle's life was her family and friends; this was apparent to all who knew her, She always put others before herself. Anyone who visited Myrtle's home was always treated special, particularly when sampling her excellent cooking and baking. She made many friends in her lifetime, and was an avid volunteer in community events. Gardening was a passion of Myrtle's, vegetable and flower gardens flourished in her yard and plants filled her home. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and writing in her spare time. The family would like to express their thanks to Vincent, Myrtle's first grandchild, for the care he provided his grandmother over the past 10 years. Vincent's unconditional love was the reason she was able to reside at her home right up until her passing. Active pallbearers will be Russell Britton, Vincent Rimmer, Trevor Wismer, Norman Wismer, Bob Murphy, and Kris Murphy. Honourary pallbearers will be Bill and Bruce Bremner. The family would like to thank Myrtle's health care workers, the doctors and staff at the Grace Hospital and in particular Dr. Elin Bergman for their special care. Myrtle's funeral service will take place on Saturday, January 13 at 10:30 a.m. in the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 5335 Portage Avenue, Headingley, MB with Rev. Ian Peterson officiating. Interment will follow in the Holy Trinity Anglican Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Headingley, MB.
