JACQUELINE ELLEN EPP After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jacqueline Ellen Epp on May 9, 2009. Jacquie was born on May 23, 1947 to Elvira and James Johnson. She leaves to mourn, her loving husband of thirty years, Cecil; sons, Brendan (Tricia) and Matthew (Sara); daughter Melanie (Alex); father James; sister Marilyn (Wayne); father-in-law Jake; brother-in-law Barry (Kate); niece Bailey (Trevor), and nephews, Jacob and Ryan as well as many other family and friends. Jacqueline was a many-faceted woman with diverse interests. She taught school for many years, was a successful real estate broker, and she was an active partner in the family businesses. She was thoughtful and kind, truly living by the morals that she taught and so firmly believed in. She was a mother first; often to those who already had a mother of their own. She was an archer, hunter, horseback rider, dog trainer, dog, bird and animal lover, target shooter, fabulous cook, natural gardener, voracious reader, and the glue that held things together. Jacquie grew up in Winnipeg. She spent many years of her life at Laclu, Ontario where she and her family have unforgettable memories. When they moved to Anola, Jacquie realized that she had it all. She had her loved ones around her in a setting that completely suited them. They were able to pursue all of their interests and carry on their business without leaving home. When first diagnosed, she was asked if there was anywhere she wanted to go or anything she wanted to do. Interestingly, she chose to do exactly what she did everyday. It is a comforting thought that signifies true contentment and no regrets. Jacquie had a love for life that drew people to her. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to thank the following for their care and devotion to her during her illness, Dr. Krepart, Dr. Lotocki, Dr. Popowich and Dr. Dean from Cancer Care Manitoba, all the Nurses and Support Care Workers of Ward 3B at the St. Boniface Hospital. It is amazing to us that you are able to keep giving as you do. At Jacquie's request, there will not be a traditional funeral. True to her spirit, she did not want her friends and family to dwell on the negative, rather, reflect on and celebrate the positive. Those who wish to pay their respects and share the day are invited to a Celebration of Jacquie's life, to be held at her home in Anola on Sunday, June 7, 2009 starting at 2:00 p.m. Please come and join us. Go to: www.prbullet.com/jac.htm for directions. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jacqueline's memory may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, 1160-675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, R3E 0V9. My thoughts and prayers are with you Cecil and family. I just knew Jackie for a very short time and saw that she was a wonderful person. Sorry that I could not make your celebration on Sunday. Take care - Louise / HCA/3B - Posted by: Louise Embury (Friend) on: Jun 08, 2009
