HILKKA KAROLIINA WIDING JUNE 9, 1922 - July 15, 2009 Peacefully, on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 Hilkka Widing, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 87 years. Remaining to cherish Hilkka's memory are her sister Annikki (and family); daughters Katriina (Wayne) and Tuula; grandchildren Kristina (Damian), Corey, Jim, Matthew, Jon, Miles, Peter (Karoline), Fredrick (Suzanna) and great-granddaughters Nicola, Sofia, Viktoria, Ella and Eileen. Hilkka was predeceased by her husband Oliver and her two sons Juha (Susan) and Matti (Ulla). Hilkka was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She got immense joy spending time with her grandchildren and created many special memories with them having lunches in the garden with a table set with the good china, crystal and silver. She had a great sense of style, whether it came to decorating her home or planning her beloved garden. Hilkka will be greatly missed by all that shared her life. In compliance with Hilkka's wishes, a private family funeral service has been held. ... God saw her getting tired And a cure was not to be, So He put His arms around her And whispered, Come to me. With tearful eyes we watched her suffer And saw her fade away Although we loved her dearly, We could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands at rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. We will always LOVE you ...
