

PHYLLIS MAY KEMP Phyllis May Kemp, 87, of St. Adolphe, passed away peacefully after a short illness at the Victoria General Hospital in Winnipeg, on May 30, 2012. Phyllis was born to the late David and Elizabeth Kemp on April 30, 1925, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Phyllis received her education at the St. Adolphe Convent and then was trained as a LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse). She spent her career working throughout the Winnipeg region. Upon retirement she returned to the family home in St. Adolphe to give care to her aging parents in their home until their passing. Phyllis loved all of God's creatures, receiving love in return from all who knew her. She was a true follower of her faith, nurturing her garden, animals and feeling privileged to be surrounded by God's beauty in nature. Phyllis is survived by her sister, Dorothy Taylor of Niagara on the Lake, Ontario and many nieces and nephews in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Washington and Arizona. She was greatly loved by her family and will be sadly missed as a part of their lives. In addition to her parents, Phyllis was predeceased by siblings; Alice Poisson, John Kemp, Tom Kemp, and Alfred Kemp. A viewing will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 15, 2012, at St. Adolphe Roman Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will be held at the Church at 11:00 a.m. followed immediately by interment in the St. Adolphe Parish Cemetery, where her beloved parents are resting. Light refreshments will follow in the Church Hall. Our soul waiteth for the Lord: He is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice Him because we have trusted in His holy name.
