RETTA WILLIAMS

RETTA ROBERTA WILLIAMS (nee GILBEY) August 31, 1916 June 10, 2012 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Retta Roberta Williams at 95 years of age on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Riverview Health Centre. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Louise Bell (David), granddaughters Melanie (John), Catherine (Bryan) and Christy, great-grandchildren Megan, Brandon and Olivia; her son Bruce (Mary), grandchildren Lelainia, Kenneth and Elizabeth, great-granddaughter Hazel; nieces Ellen Glinka of Edmonton and Sylvia Bildfell of Vancouver. She was predeceased by her husband Herbert Williams in 1990, and was the last surviving member of the Gilbey family, including her parents Samuel and Ellen, sisters Gertrude, Isobel, Lillian, brothers Roy, Ernest, William and Kenneth. Aside from working part-time at Eaton's for many years, her primary calling was caring for her family. Mom was a wonderful example of what a mother and grandmother should be loving, caring and supportive. We will miss her greatly. Our thanks and appreciation goes to the staff on CD4 at Riverview Health Centre, for their extraordinary care and compassion. A private family memorial service is to be held at a later date.
