RUTH MOORE

RUTH ELIZABETH MOORE 1915 - 2012 With sadness and love we announce the quiet peaceful passing of Ruth Elizabeth Moore on June 14, 2012, at the age of 96. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Roy in 1989, and by her five sisters and one brother. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her son Dennis, her daughter Velma, son-in-law Denis, her grandson James and his wife Ruth, and her great-grandchildren Joseph and Stella. Ruth will be sadly missed and always loved by her special family - Costa, Litsa, Rea, Maria, and Soraya, and by her favorite niece Betty, as well as many relatives and friends. Ruth lived a long and happy life full of kindness and gratitude, collecting up friends as she went along. Her family and her friends were the focus of her life. She always loved to write and receive letters. Our family would like to thank the staff at Charleswood Care Centre for their excellent care and tender support of Mom - so many special people made Mom a real part of their lives. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at Charleswood United Church, 4820 Roblin Blvd., with a reception to follow.   • I have known Auntie Ruth all of my life. She was my Mom's oldest sister. I remember visiting Winnipeg to see her when I was a kid. And she was such a family person, that she travelled to Saskatchewan to see her sisters often over the years. Once I was working, I was able to see her when I was in Winnipeg for business and later for vacations. A very positive upbeat lady. She loved to try new things like ringing the bells with white gloves, ceramics, crocheting, gardening, gourmet cooking, needlework, and especially entertaining guests. She had the family's beautiful singing voice and hers was unforgettable. No one could ever forget her voice. And it was always filled with love. A very loving person who created a loving family. She saw her new twin great-grandchildren before she died. That was like closing the circle on her great memories of being responsible for her baby twin sisters when she was about 10 years old. Although we can't physically visit her any longer, we have her in our hearts any time we want. She is now with all her many friends and family who have gone ahead. My deepest sympathy to her family who have had her love for so long. She will be missed.
