FLORENCE PETROVITCH

FLORENCE PETROVITCH (nee POWROZNIK) August 1, 1920 - June 13, 2012 Florence Petrovitch was born on August 1, 1920, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and passed away on June 13, 2012, at Intercare, Millrise in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 91 years. She is survived by her loving daughters, Wendy (Barry) Stutsky of Calgary and Penny (Ed) Popiel of Parksville, B.C.; grandchildren, Marnie and Brent Stutsky, Bill C (Terri) Dubesky and Christa Dubesky; and great-grandchildren, Will M, Brendan and Meagan Dubesky. She was predeceased by her husband, Louis (1978) and daughter Terry (1980). Florence enjoyed the majority of her life in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and in 2001, moved to Calgary to continue her retirement. Prior to moving to Intercare in 2011, she resided at Millrise Place and Bethany care facilities in Calgary, where she was well cared for and well liked by all the staff. Her humour and witty remarks often shone through the shadow of dementia which finally overcame her. She passed peacefully and is at home, at last with her husband and daughter. A Graveside Farewell for Florence will take place on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. and will be held in Winnipeg at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
