RALPH NEWCOMBE

RALPH NEWCOMBE Ralph Newcombe of Gimli, MB passed away in Montreal on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the age of 84. Predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Margaret (Peggy) Briggs and his daughter Laura. Dear father of Joanne (Leonard Murray) of Montreal, QC and Elaine (Peter Papetti) of Edmonton, AB. Sadly missed by his sister Dorothy Paul and sisters-in-law Jean Gauley and Pat Varley. Loved by his grandchildren Sarah (Steve Kennedy), Christopher (Janice Bowen), Jennifer (Ralph Reda), Allison, Jessica (Frank Fitzgerald) and Kevin. Great-grandfather to Maxwell and Teiya (Kennedy), Musa and Maryam (Fitzgerald), and grandpuppies Simon and Tron. To all the friends and family who have supported us, thank you and we love you. A graveside service will be held at Rideau Memorial Gardens in Montreal (boul. des Sources) on Wednesday, July 4 at 1:00 p.m. where Peg and Ralph will be laid to rest with their daughter Laura.

  • I don't know if this is the Ralph Newcombe I knew back in the 1940's. He went to Luxton School and lived across the road from the school. We were good friends back then, were both in the School Crossing Patrol and the Scouts. I was an evacuee from the UK and have many fond mempries of Ralph. We corresponded for a while after the War but eventually lost touch. If this is the Ralph I knew please accept my condolences - he was a great guy.
