RHEBA ANDERSON

RHEBA EDNA ANDERSON Passed away, peacefully, in her 91st year of life. She was predeceased by her husband Sven Anderson, and five siblings: Lloyd, Eileen, Doreen, Joan, and Ruth, as well as her parents. She leaves many nieces and nephews to mourn her passing. Rheba worked for the United Grain Growers, then The Canadian Wheat Board, where her career flourished. When Rheba retired from the Canadian Wheat Board, she worked for the Christian Science Church as the church clerk, then the librarian in the reading room, then head librarian. Rheba was a dedicated christian scientist, throughout her life. In May 2006, she sold her house and moved to The Boulton Retirement Home and was very happy there. The family is thankful for the wonderful support the staff and residents had given to Rheba as her health declined. In May, 2012, Rheba moved into Vista Park Lodge recovering from a broken hip. The staff was very encouraging to her, but she was giving up the fight. She passed away on July 9, 2012 with family and staff around her. Memorial service will be held on Monday, July 16 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.mb.ca 885-9715

  • Rheba and I met in the early 1960's while I worked at lawyer Max Yale Diamond where she paid her mortgage on 558 Clifton. Rheba and I became friends right away. My husband Gilbert and our daugher Debbie lived with Sven and Rheba from 1964-1974. Sorry to have not called her more of late. I've been a widow since 2001. My sympathy to all who survived Rheba.
