ADELLE KORSUNSKY Peacefully on Thursday, July 26, 2012, at St. Boniface Hospital, surrounded by her loving family Adelle Korsunsky passed away at the age of 85. She will be sadly missed by her children; Joel (Dorothy), Lyle (Nori), Alison, Hersh (Wendy), grandchildren; David, Sara (Matt Rothman), Ryan, Hannah, Rachel, Mark, Torey, Sydney, Jaime, Brett, Adam and her great-grandchild Theo. Adelle is also survived by her sisters; Anne (Lou Corrin) of Vancouver and Bracha (Alex Weingrod) of Israel. Adelle was predeceased by her husband Ted and her sister Ida and her brother Harold. Adelle was born in Winnipeg on June 10, 1927, to Clara and Louis Soloway. Adelle grew up in the North End of Winnipeg. She met Ted and they married in 1949. Ted and Adelle spent 44 wonderful years until Ted's passing in 1993. Adelle returned to school when she was in her forties and completed her university degree where she became a well-respected teacher of E.S.L to many new Canadians. Adelle's greatest passions were playing bridge, scrabble and traveling. But her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family, The family would like to thank Dr. Hasdan and the staff of E4 of St. Boniface Hospital. Funeral services were held on Sunday, July 29 at Etz Chayim with interment at the Bnay Abraham Cemetery. Pallbearers were Barry Corrin, Ron Garber, David Korsunsky, Matt Rothman, Ryan Korsunsky, and Torey Korsunsky. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Museum of Human Rights in Winnipeg, or the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba.
