RUTH AKER On Monday, November 5, 2012, Ruth Nell Aker passed at the age of 95 years. She will be well remembered and was dearly loved by her daughter Penny (Brian Head), grandchildren Andrea Murray (Winston Blakey) and Peter Murray (Kelsey), Colleen Guggenberger (Andre) and her great-grandson, Thomas Blakey, and great-granddaughters, Danika and Aunica Guggenberger Ruth was predeceased by Roy, her husband of 61 years, in 2003, and is the last of her eight and her husband's nine brothers and sisters. Ruth and her husband owned and operated Aker's Junior Wear in St. James, and Ruth continued to work until retirement at 65. Her bread was sublime, her card-playing and cribbage skills were legend, and her smile was ever present. Our thanks to the caring staff on 2 west, Oakview Place for their attention and thoughtfulness. A graveside service and interment will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Ruth's memory to a charity of their choice. To the best of my knowledge, Aunt Ruth always had a smile on her face. I am picturing Mom, Dad, Uncle Roy, Aunt Ruth, Aunt Edna and Uncle Ted all in Heaven playing cards the way they used to at the farm.
