ARTHUR MANAIGRE It is with heavy hearts and sorrow that we announce the passing of Arthur Manaigre, our beloved husband, father and grandfather. Dad passed on February 27, 2013. He will forever be in the hearts of his beloved wife Margaret, his children: Mike (Jennifer, Desiree, Dustin); Frank (Tina); Kathy (Russell, Katelynn, Krystal); John (Kim, Britney, Ryan, Jessica); Danny (Charlene, Shaelynn, Owen), and Karen (Dave, Miranda). He was predeceased by his children Beverley and Anthony; his brothers Gerald, Armand, Eddy, Emil, Henry and his sisters Hermine and Anita, as well as his parents Ida and Omer. Dad was born on June 24, 1935 in Ste. Anne, MB to Omer and Ida Manaigre. He was raised in Elmgrove along with his 12 brothers and sisters. As a young boy dad was an avid hunter and trapper. He would earn extra money trapping rabbits. Dad always claimed he knew how to knit a pair mitts and to bake a chocolate cake, although we never did see a pair of mitts or a chocolate cake. Dad met mom in the fall of 1956 and were married in June 1958. Together mom and dad had eight children. Dad's greatest pride was his family. Dad's hunting and fishing trips always included his children. Dad always looked forward the fall as he would go on a hunting trip for moose or elk with his children. Dad provided for his family by farming, truck driving, mining and later upholstery. One of dad's fondest memories of his career as a single man was going up North and working on the Dew line. Funeral services will be held in Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church, Ste. Anne, MB on March 6, 2013. Prayers at 1:30 p.m., Funeral Mass at 2:00 p.m. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Bissonette and the staff at Ste. Anne's Hospital. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. followed by the funeral mass at 2:00 p.m. in the Ste. Anne Catholic Church, 162 Central Avenue, Ste. Anne, MB.   • Uncle Art was always a loving person and would do anything for anyone. We will miss you alot. Rest in peace Uncle Art love your niece Colette daughter of Aime Manaigre. Aime always talks about how much he loved and cares about his brother. Aime will be sad and will miss all the good times that he had with Art.

  • We could not have asked for a better uncle. We could not have asked for a better person to be our uncle. Uncle Art always made everyone feel welcomed and loved, important and special. He had that kindness, that gentle, caring, generous, sincere nature that you so rarely see nowadays. He reminded me so much of my own Mom, his sister Hermine and now that they are both gone, I will forever have this huge, empty space in my heart that no one else will ever be able to fill. We were so very lucky to have 'Uncle Art' in our lives, right from the time we were little kids, we always looked forward to visiting he and Aunty Margaret and all of the cousins - it was, for us, like being home, just with more people in the house! Uncle Art will always be a part of my most special memories and I will always be grateful that he was part of my family. The world has lost a gentle and comforting soul... My deepest sympathies to you, Aunty Margaret - I love you Matante! And to all of my cousins whom I love very much too. I saw it with my own two eyes; how very lucky Uncle Art was to have his family members by his side throughout these past few months. Love did all that Love could do...
