CAMERON ERIC ASHER November 14, 1956 - November 23, 2016 With sad hearts we announce that Cameron Eric Asher, aged 60 years, of Winnipeg, MB, passed away at home on November 23, 2016. Cameron Eric Asher was born in the RM of Gimli, Manitoba to Herbert and June Asher on November 14, 1956. He graduated from high school in Selkirk. He married Joann Asher on May 20, 1978 in MacGregor, Manitoba. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 20 years, where he retired to the rank of MWO in 1997. He then went on to work as Facility Manager at Red River College up until his retirement in 2014. Cameron is survived by his wife Joann Asher; sons, Rick Asher (Jen), Dave Asher (Lisa); grandsons, Taylor Asher, Cody Asher and granddaughter Alison Asher, as well as numerous brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces. Public Viewing will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on November 30, 2016 at Mosaic Event Centre 1006 Nairn Ave. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday December 2 at the Mosaic Event Centre. A reception will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion # 7 at 117 Regent Ave. East. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to CancerCare Manitoba and the Heart and Stroke Foundation.   • We were saddened to hear of the loss of a great friend & Colleague. Cam had an up lifting personality. Cam always smiling never complaining; I'd ask how are you doing Cam he'd answer "Crazy as ever Wen". Cam will be greatly missed by many.   • We were neighbors in Comox back in the 80's & we also bowled together.Cam was one of the smartest people I know. He could fix or make anything & was always willing to help you out. Over the years we have kept in touch & when Ron died, he & Joann were a comfort to me.
