CAROL ROSE MCGRATH (EBERT) April 20, 1950 - January 23, 2017 We are deeply saddened to announce on January 23 2017, with her family by her side, our wonderful, loving wife, mother and grandmother Carol passed away. Carol will be remembered and cherished by her loving husband Kevin, of 42 years, son Jason, her daughter and best friend Victoria (Richard), Justin, Christopher and Ashley, her brother Victor Ebert, mother-in-law Ethel McGrath, Carol's pride and joy her granddaughter Toni-Dawn McGrath, and so many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends. Carol was predeceased by her parents George and Edith Ebert, father-in-law Hugh McGrath, and best friend Terry-Lynne (Carol stated that "Heaven would never be the same once they were reunited"). Carol was so proud to be married into a family that had so many siblings and was so happy that she finally had sisters, she truly felt as she was a McGrath sister. Carol was a St. James girl born and raised, she had her favourite cashiers at all her stores and would wait in a longer line up just to see them. Carol worked at many places over the years and made many dear friendships. She loved her bingo nights at the Army and Navy with her friends. She enjoyed hosting her Christmas Eve open house with great food, great people, great laughs and great memories. She was an animal lover and had many pets over the years most recently her Koda and Teka. Carol loved her mornings playing crib with her beloved husband Kevin and then came the day where he taught her how to play golf, well she was hooked! They would spend every day they could golfing at Players, of course another place she would make more friends. Carol also looked forward to her and Kevin's annual golf get away at Clear Lake. Carol was a beautiful, kind, caring, loving, amazing, cheerful, honest woman and will greatly be missed by many. The family would like to thank CancerCare, the Grace Hospital and support staff during Carol's brief illness Also to Carol's dear friend Deb for her friendship and help. A funeral service will be held at Kirkfield Park United Church, 472 Kirkfield St., Winnipeg, MB on January 30, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the church basement to share fond memories and happy times with Carol. In lieu of flowers, spend some special time with your family and remind yourself how precious time is with them. "You are not forgotten, loved one nor will you ever be. As long as life and memory last we will remember thee"
