With deep sorrow, the family of Edvige "Edie" Forest (nee Hérie) announces her peaceful passing on September 12, 2025, at the age of 85.
She is survived by her children, Ron and Sharon Darden (Randy) and grandchildren, Amanda, Reese, Keshia, Durell, Ashley, Teja and Mimi. Edvige was predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years, Joseph Forest (2011), her son Richard (2015), her father Narcisse (1995), mother Ella (2000), brother Joseph (1994) and sister Jeanne (2013).
Edie was born in St. Malo in 1940 and married Joseph in 1959; the family lived in St. Pierre for a short time before moving to St. Boniface in the late 1960s. In the early 1970s Edie returned to school and attained her licensed practical nurse diploma. She then worked at the Tache Nursing Centre for approximately 30 years before early retirement in 2003. Her favourite pastimes included knitting, crossword puzzles and spending time with her immediate and extended family.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Desjardins Funeral Home, 357 Des Meurons Street, Winnipeg.
In lieu of flowers, Edie would have liked if you would perform a random act of kindness with her name in mind or a donation to a charity of your choice.
