BRUCE TOLLEFSON
Bruce passed away in Toronto in the loving care of his family.
Bruce was predeceased by his parents, Alta and Walt; his first wife Myrna (Halvarson) and their son Robert. Bruce is survived by his immediate family: Robert's sister, Deborah, his second wife Vivian and their children, Jennifer Jamorski (Michal) and David (Rachel), grandchildren, Phillip, Lukasz and Giorgia all of Toronto; brother Bob (Peg) and their children, Heather (Norbert), Geoff (Chantelle) and Laura (Trevor) and their kids, Marc, Aiden, Morgan, Piper, Halle, Will, Addison and Lyndon, all of Winnipeg and Myrna’s brother Owen.
Alta and Walt brought Bruce and his younger brother Bob to Winnipeg from Vancouver just after the 1950 flood.
Bruce attended Rockwood, Earl Grey, and graduated from Kelvin High School. He continued his education and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Manitoba.
To help finance his education, the summers found him driving a blind piano tuner around southern Manitoba (easy!), working for the City of Winnipeg Water Works by boating on the Red River and collecting water samples (nice!), and riding the rails as a Porter for CN passenger trains (sweet!).
Upon graduation, Bruce went to work for Great West Life in their Claims department (real work!) and was subsequently headhunted by Xerox for their Broadway and Smith branch. Shortly thereafter Xerox transferred Bruce, Myrna, Robert and Deborah to Toronto where Bruce worked for Xerox until his retirement.
Bruce, we will miss you and you will be forever in our hearts.

We were saddened by reading of Bruce’s passing in the Saturday obituary part of the Winnipeg Free Press. We met Bruce in our teens at Our Saviors Lutheran church where we shared many happy times. Like his parents Bruce was mild mannered and likeable. We share sadness for all he knew. - Posted by: Dennis and Evelyn Terrick (Friend) on: Sep 20, 2025
