ERNEST BILLY REIMER

It is with great sadness that the family of Ernest Billy Reimer announces his passing at the age of 80, following a lengthy illness. Ernie was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be missed by many.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Stefanie Reimer; his son, Daniel Reimer; and his daughters, Audrey Romanchuk (Travis Romanchuk) and Dana Cameron (Ryan Cameron). He also had four grandchildren that he loved dearly, Mackenzie Cameron, Brydon Cameron, Raya Romanchuk and Gage Romanchuk. Ernie also leaves behind five cherished sisters and one brother-in-law, whose love and support meant the world to him. He was also a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. Ernie was predeceased by his parents, William and Nettie Reimer, and his brother, John Reimer.

Born on June 6, 1945, Ernie was a proud veteran of the Navy, having served with honor and dedication. After his military service, he met his wife and eventually settled in Winnipeg Mb. Ernie was a man of many talents, with a particular gift for working with his hands. As a skilled handyman, he worked at several trades related jobs throughout his life. Whether it was fixing a leaky faucet, building custom furniture, or helping friends and neighbors with home repairs, Ernie took pride in his work and always went the extra mile to ensure things were done right and was always willing to lend a hand. Ernie was an avid golfer and a passionate fisherman. Many afternoons were spent on the greens or casting a line into the Red River, moments he cherished with family and friends.

A dedicated member of the Riverside Lions Club, Ernie was deeply committed to serving the community. He volunteered countless hours with the Lions, taking part in a wide range of charitable events and service projects. His involvement helped make a meaningful impact on the lives of many in the community.

A viewing and service will be held for Ernie at Glen Lawn Funeral Home on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. The family requests that donations be made in lieu of flowers to your local lion’s club or other local charity.
