On October 26, 2025, Annette passed away with her children by her side — leaving behind a lifetime of laughter, generosity, and love.
Though she left Newfoundland at 17, she always carried its spirit with her. She had the heart of a true Newfoundlander, and when it came to helping family and friends, she was all in — most times with chocolate in hand.
She met the love of her life, Barry, on a blind date in Montreal, and soon after moved to Winnipeg to be with him.
For those who knew her, life with Annette was full of adventure. She was always up for a good laugh, a friendly prank, and any excuse to gather people together. She especially loved the time spent with her children, Cory (Jen) and Paula (Sean), and with her grandchildren, Evan and Ali, who brought her endless joy and pride.
Her legacy lives on in the stories from her childhood summers in Petty Harbour, the camping trips, weekends at the lake, late-night Scrabble games, ski trips, pizza nights, and many other unforgettable moments — like the infamous cutting board incident.
Thank you to all those who cared for her over the last few years, and to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital for everything you did, and for keeping her music playing.
Cremation has taken place, and interment will occur at a private family ceremony.
Mom, you’ve reunited with Dad. You are with your true love once again.
