Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER KORALEWICZ
Dad was born in Elma, MB to immigrant parents that fled the Ukraine. He loved his parents and missed them until his passing. He was their sixth child and had a very happy home life. Growing up near a river, he learned to swim and to skate. At 18 he left to defend the free world joining the army’s light infantry.
After basic training, he boarded a ship to England serving as a Staff Sergeant for four years until returning home with his two older brothers. During his time overseas, he made good friends that he kept in touch with and visited 40 years later. He met the love of his life at the train station platform in Elma where he worked as a train agent for his mentor Archie McKinnon. He fell head over heels for this tall blonde beauty, his Jennie (Jean, George). Together for 74 years, they shared a love for music, dance and time spent with family and friends of which grew larger after Dad’s retiring from CNR, a career of which he enjoyed. Her passing was very hard on him. She was the love of his life. They raised the four of us, we raised our nine children and now wait for a first great-grandchild. He loved nature and animals, especially his dog Leo who was his companion before meeting Mom. He was a wonderful father, the kindest, gentlest man you could meet, nic-named Saint Peter for his demeanor.
Many thanks to all the hospital and nursing staff that attended to his needs for the last two years. Your dedication and skills kept him alive. Greatest thanks to his ever-devoted friends, Anne and Ed; your friendship meant everything to him and to us. On Dad’s behalf we ask all that are able to donate time or money to the hospitals and nursing homes that truly need our help. Thanks to Father Lukie and Father Winn for Dad’s spiritual care and to Eternal Grace Funeral Chapel for their care.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at Eternal Grace Funerals, Fr. M. Winn officiating. Interment to follow in Elma, MB.

Please accept my sincere condolences on your father's passing. My father, Al Hintz (who also passed this past June) worked with Peter for years and I too had the pleasure of working with Peter when I began working at the CN and became a train dispatcher. Our father's continued their friendship for years and I last seen your dad at my parent's place maybe 6-7 years ago. Your dad was a true gentleman. Rest in Peace Peter. - Posted by: Rod Hintz (co-worker) on: Jan 03, 2026

We were nextdoor neighbours to Peter in Rivercrest. He was the nicest man. He would take me along with his family to socials out in Elma and was my favorite dance teacher. Our families became great friends and came to love Peter and all the family. Rest peacefully dear Peter and deepest Sympathies to Debbie and Darlene, Tony and Gary. - Posted by: Pat Bale Holubowich (Friend and neighbour) on: Jan 03, 2026
