ALLEN PFEIL
After a short illness, on Monday, April 20, 2026, our beloved husband and father, Allen left us to join his parents, John and Grace and brother Raymond. Allen is survived by his loving wife Leslie, children Lee Ann and Christopher (Janine) and grandchildren Emily, Thomas, Eric, Charlotte and Liam. He is also survived by his sisters Marilyn (Ron), Karen (Terry) and numerous other family and friends.
Allen was raised in the Miami, Manitoba area before moving to St. Vital when he was five. He graduated from the Universities of Winnipeg and Manitoba as a teacher and taught in Easterville and Ebb and Flow returning to Winnipeg to teach at Margaret Underhill, Westview and Harold Hatcher schools in Transcona until his retirement. He then joined Jobworks educating individuals to become classroom paraprofessionals. Also in his retirement years, he spent many hours volunteering at Rescue Siamese.
A celebration of Allen’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 01, 2026, at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancercare Foundation of Manitoba or Rescue Siamese.
The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to all the HSC personnel on GD6. Your care towards Allen and our family was exceptional.

We all have that one teacher in our lives who makes a difference and he was the one teacher for me. He made learning so much fun. The auctions we had on Friday with his homemade money and his picture in the middle reminding us who was in charge. We stayed connected even after I left school, often seeing each other at Chi Chi's. He was the most caring man who always made sure everyone around him was in a good place. To his family, you had an incredible husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather, my condolences to you all. - Posted by: Robin (Friend) on: May 04, 2026

Dear Pfeil family, I was deeply saddened by my dear friend Allen's passing. He will be fondly remembered by all who had the priviledge of working with him or were somehow connected with him. He was the truest and sweetest friend you could ever know. I know I will miss him until the day we meet on the other side. My sincerest condolences to his beloved family. Rest in peace my dear, dear friend. - Posted by: Ursula Vieira (Friend/ colleague) on: May 03, 2026

Leslie, LeeAnn, Chris, Karen, Marilyn and families, Our deepest sympathy on Allen’s passing. Even though we didn’t get to spend a lot of time together, as life takes us different directions, I’m so grateful I had the chance to reconnect with him at your 50th anniversary Leslie. I will remember Allen as someone genuine, good hearted and easy to be around. May all your wonderful memories bring you peace and comfort in the days ahead. My sincere condolences to Allen’s family. I worked with Allen at Harold Hatcher School and I also did a workshop for him every year at Job Works. He was such a wonderful, kind person. - Posted by: Joyce Grose (Friend) on: Apr 25, 2026

Allen and I worked together for many years at Harold Hatche, and I am proud to have called him my friend. He was always the early bird, getting a day's work done before the rest of us arrived! His optimism and open mindedness often helped to keep us on the right track while we developed plans for challenging children. We maintained our friendship upon retirement, his and mine. I am struggling with the idea of my world without Allen, as are everybody else. My heart goes out to his family, of whom he was deeply proud. - Posted by: Moira Honey (Friend and colleague) on: Apr 25, 2026
