CHARLES "CHUCK" BAY Charles "Chuck" Bay, aged 83, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2002 from complications following heart surgery. He was the loving husband of Frances for 58 years and the adoring father of the late Josh Bay. Born in Winnipeg, MB, Canada and the last surviving brother of five siblings, Chuck graduated from the University of Winnipeg and earned an MBA in Business from Harvard in 1938. He served in the Canadian Army during the Second World War and emigrated to California after the war. A successful retailer, merchant, manufacturer, business executive and entrepreneur, Chuck developed a number of product lines including high end down comforters. A generous philanthropist, Chuck was a supporter of the Jewish Federation Council of Los Angeles, the American Jewish Committee, My Discover Place at the Westside Jewish Community Centre, the Zimmer Childrens Museum, and Temple Israel of Hollywood. Intelligent, imaginative, kind-hearted and scholarly, Chuck was devoted to his family, friends and business associates and was loved by many. Funeral services were held at 12 noon on Sunday, June 23, 2002 at Mount Sinai Memorial Park, Hollywood Hills, Mount Sinai Mortuaries.
