ALVIN (AL) DORN With sadness we announce the passing of Alvin (Al) Dorn on Thursday, December 9, 2004 at Deer Lodge Centre, Winnipeg, MB. Alvin was predeceased by brothers, Elzear and John; sister Vyvian; and sister-in-law Edith of Yorkton, SK. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Fernande; sisters, Angeline and Lillian; his children, Rita (Guy), Maxine, Larry; and other family members. Born October 31, 1919 at Yorkton, Alvin farmed and worked as a heavy duty mechanic. He enjoyed his retirement travelling and socializing with family and friends. Al was a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans. The family wishes to thank the staff of T3 unit at Deer Lodge Centre for their care and consideration. At Alvins request cremation has taken place and a private interment was held. A memorial reception will be held on Friday, December 17 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
