Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNERISSA CHRISTIE April 4, 1937 - January 30, 2005 With her family at her side Nerissa Christie died peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital on Sunday, January 30, 2005 at the age of 67. Nerissa is survived by her son Delroy; two grandchildren, Kerry-Ann and Jeremy; seven sisters, Ruby, Beryl, Elaine, Dorothy, Tatlyn, Ruth and Lalene; and one brother Reginald. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, relative and many friends. Nerissa was born in St. Anns, Jamaica to the late Clarence and Maude Christie. She migrated to Winnipeg over 30 years ago. Nerissa worked for Riverview Health Centre for 25 years as a health care aide, and was a dedicated member of the Afro Caribbean Association of Manitoba along with the Caribbean Seniors Group. She had a loving heart and will be missed for her signature pastries and dishes. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Boniface Hospital for their care and dedication. Viewing will be held on Friday, February 4 between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. The memorial services will be celebrated by Pastor C. Lane on Saturday, February 5 at 10:30 a.m. also at the chapel. Interment will follow in Jamaica. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. I am very sorry for your loss. Losing a loved one is very hard on the family. My advice would be to know that you are not the only one going through the situation and that I am praying for you. I hope you will be comforted knowing this. I also must say that I found it interesting that we have the same name and that we're both from JA.
